Admissions cut in degree colleges. The higher education council has been asked to reduce seats in government degree colleges in Telangana. It has already decided to close courses that are less than 25 percent in private degree colleges. The higher education system has decided to implement a similar policy for government degree colleges. In 2017-18, zero admissions colleges were 51, and there were 186 colleges with admission of 25 percent. There is a government degree college with zero admissions. It is noteworthy that the Government Degree College does not reach the marks of Mahatma Gandhi University.
ADMISSIONS DECREMENT IN DEGREE COLLEGE
There are 31 Government Degree Colleges having 25% entrance. 1,515 (15.60%) students joined the 2017-18 academic years from 9,710 seats in 31 government colleges. The higher education system has begun to cancel the courses that are less than 25 percent. Information that already has been issued to the respective universities to take action in this direction. That means 9,710 seats in government degree colleges will be reduced. Of the 51 colleges that have zero admissions, 10,150 seats are in the 186 colleges with 25 percent, while the number of seats is 56,285, which is 66,435 seats.
