The Central Government has made it clear that there is no idea of reducing excise duty on petrol and diesel.Instead of this, it suggested as the states have to reduce the sales tax or VAT. the petrol and diesel prices risen never over in the past five years , the petrol prices have risen to 75-80 per liter and diesel prices have risen to 66-72,so the protests were expressed.one of the Finance Ministry official said if want to reduce the budget deficit - excise duty could not be cut.
NO IDEA OF REDUCE THE EXCISE DUTY ON PETROL AND DIESEL - CENTRAL
The central charged excise duty Rs 19.48 per liter on petrol and Rs 15.33 per liter on diesel.The reduction of rupee in the tariff would have a Rs 13,000 crore burden on the government,The efforts to reduce fiscal deficit 3.5 to 3.3 percent of GDP will damage , the official said.so the common man does not have a relief from the rise of petrol prices.
