Kanchi pontiff Jayendra Saraswathi passed away. He was appointed as the 69th Chief of the Kanchi Peetam. Jayendra was born in Thanjavur district on July 18, 1935. His name is Subrahmanya Iyer. He changed as Jayendra Saraswathi on March 24, 1954. Jayendra, who is suffering from respiratory problems over the past few days, has been admitted in the ABC Hospital in Kanchipuram on Tuesday. Although the doctors tried their turn, the result was not enough. He was late on Wednesday morning. He was 82 years old. His original name is Subrahmanya Mahadeva Iyer. He was born on July 18, 1935, in Irinikal village of Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. On March 22, 1954, he became Jayendra Saraswati. From January 3, 1994, he took charge as Kanchi pontiff.
