Government has initiated solar power projects to provide safe drinking water in various agency areas of Adilabad district. This scheme started with the aim to provide water supply to all people at all times in agency areas.The projects that have been constructed at a cost of Rs.3.85 crores have failed to supervise the authorities and therefore do not provide drinking water efficiently. About 77 solar power projects were sanctioned in various zones in the district and 33 schemes were set up. These projects have taken steps to get water accessible to the public. But locals say that they have not been supervised by the department officials who are still working in these villages. These schemes, which were set up in some zones, have been acknowledged that the lack of oversight is inadequate for the maintenance of the projects.
