Former cricketer and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu received a huge relief in the Supreme Court. Sidhu was freed from a 30-year-old murder case. However, the court had ordered the court to charge him Rs. 1000 fine. The Supreme Court of India has issued a final judgment in this case. As Sidhu is not jailed, he will be the minister's job. Siddhu is a minister in the Congress government led by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. On December 17, 1988, there was a debate between Gulab Singh and Sidhu in the parking lot of a road in Patiala. This confrontation has been intensified and went on a mutual attack. In this order, Gidan Singh was taken over.

In 2007, Sidhu approached the Supreme Court challenging the High Court judgment. The Supreme Court of India has granted bail to Sidhu jail. Recently, the High Court ruled by reversing the verdict. Sidhu claims that there is no evidence that Gurin Singh is dead. Rs. 1000 fine. Sidhu's friend Rupinder Singh was also acquitted.
