The central government is dealing with discrimination on Andhra Pradesh as it gives all equals with the northeastern states receiving special status. The Center has announced that the funding of equity benefit of Andhra Pradesh will be provided under a separate package. However, 90 per cent of the lending and tax concessions are not in the lending of foreign lending projects, as given to the states that have been assigned status. The center says that only 90% of the centrally sponsored schemes will be provided. NDA Sarkar agreed to witness before the Parliament that 90 per cent of the EPIs are responsible for the states with status. However, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that it will not come under the category. The central government has been facilitating 8 northeastern states under various tax breaks. From April 1, 2000 to March 31, 2017, there was a figure of Rs 3,847 crore. That is, an average of Rs. 480 crores has been benefited for each state during the 17 years.
The 2018-19 under the GST refinancing has been proposed for a budget of Rs.1,500 crore, comprising three Himalayan and 8 northeastern states. Even if the same tax concessions to Andhra Pradesh were to be used beyond Rs 500 crore annually, expert analysis. The center has also been reluctant to help this little. The Center is giving away the money to Andhra Pradesh without getting out of special status states. The Modi leadership has been prone to complaining that the state does not give funds to the state. Many have commented that if Navyandra was in North India, funds would be huge. It is said that funds were provided for political purposes.
